The Great Plains Zoo (GPZ) is excited to announce three upcoming Community
Appreciation Days:

  • Friday, August 2
  • Monday, September 2
  • Monday, October 14

These days were chosen to include a summer opportunity, as well as two holiday
Mondays when children in the Sioux Falls School District do not have class.
Admission will be $5 per person on each of these three days. The zoo recommends
purchasing tickets online to avoid long lines. Guests who purchase tickets online can
go directly to the zoo gate and have them scanned. Tickets can also be purchased at
the admissions window.

Community Days are made possible through funding approved by the Sioux Falls City
Council, aimed at making the zoo even more accessible to more people – while also
showing our gratitude for our local community’s support of the zoo.
Residents of South Dakota, Minnesota, Iowa, and Nebraska, who participate in
programs including SNAP, Medicaid, TANF, and WIC, can purchase discounted Zoo for
All tickets throughout the year.

Zoo Lover’s Day, December 27, is a free admission day each year during winter break.
