February 1st
There are so many fun things going on the first day of the month that it needs its own section!
Celebrate the first day of February with Ice Cream for Breakfast at Stenslend! This fun morning is sure to start off the month of February on the right foot.
Head up to Brookings to get ready for Valentine’s Day early with the South Dakota Art Musume and South Dakota Agricultural Heritage Museums Family Fun Day! It’s a morning filled with Valentine’s Day-themed crafts and activities. Plus, it’s free!
Also on the first of Day of February is the Urban Adventure Center’s first monthly Day of Play! Check out their boulding wall, STEM room, and more.
Take in a Show
The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee will be playing this month at the Belbas Theater at the Washington Pavilion.
Something new this year from the South Dakota Symphony Orchestra is their Concert for Kids & Families. This concert on February 16th will delight audiences of all ages and is a perfect introduction to the orchestra.
TINA-The Tina Turner Musical is an uplifting story, and the tour is coming to Sioux Falls this month. The Musical will be at the Washington Pavilion February 21st-23rd.
Head over to the Denny Sanford PREMIER Center at the end of February for the Rascal Flatts: Life is a Highway Tour on February 27th. This could be perfect for a late Valentine’s Day date night!
Family Friendly Events
Back this month is the Raptor Rendezvous event at The Outdoor Campus in Sioux Falls on February 7th. This event will feature 2 opportunities to hear presentations with amazing live birds. This event is free, please register in advance.
Jurassic Quest is roaring back into Sioux Falls February 14th-17th! If you have a dino-loving child (or child-at-heat) in your family, this event is sure to be a hit.
Interested in learning about Ice Fishing during this cold month? The Outdoor Campus is hosting a Super Saturday of Ice Fishing on February 8th. Learn how to ice fish and enjoy time fishing on their pond. No experience is needed for this free open-house style event.
