Soccer Sprouts

Perfect for younger players who are just discovering the game, Soccer Sprouts focuses on making soccer fun while teaching age-appropriate skills. Programs include weeknight skills sessions, daycare soccer, birthday parties, and seasonal clinics led by professional youth coaches. They have sessions year-round (indoor play during the winter months). The emphasis is on confidence, movement, teamwork, and learning through play rather than competition.

Ages: 3–10 years

Dakota Alliance Soccer Club

One of the largest youth soccer organizations in the region, Dakota Alliance Soccer Club offers programs for nearly every age and ability level. Families can start with introductory programs for preschoolers, move into recreational leagues, and eventually advance to academy and premier competitive teams. The club also offers camps, clinics, adaptive soccer opportunities, and year-round training.

Ages: 3–19 years

Sioux Falls YMCA Neighborhood Soccer

Neighborhood Soccer is a free community soccer program designed to make the sport accessible to every child. Hosted at neighborhood parks throughout Sioux Falls, the program focuses on fun, skill development, teamwork, and building relationships within the community. Participants receive coaching, a soccer ball, shin guards, a jersey, and even a meal at each session, making it an incredible opportunity for families. Beginning in 2026, the program is officially part of the Sioux Falls Family YMCA while continuing its mission of serving children in Sioux Falls neighborhoods.

Ages: Elementary-aged children (program availability varies by neighborhood and season).

Sports First Midwest Soccer

Sports First Midwest offers recreational soccer leagues designed to help young athletes learn the game in a positive, encouraging environment. Players develop fundamental soccer skills while participating in age-appropriate practices and games led by volunteer coaches. The league focuses on sportsmanship, teamwork, and building confidence, making it an excellent option for families seeking a fun, community-based soccer experience. Seasonal leagues are offered throughout the year, including spring, summer, and fall sessions.

Ages: Approximately 3–10 years (age divisions vary by season).

Tea Parks & Recreation Soccer

Tea Parks & Recreation offers a fantastic introduction to soccer for young athletes in the Tea community. Pre-K through 2nd grade players participate in a local recreational league focused on learning the fundamentals and having fun. Beginning in 3rd grade, players register through Dakota Alliance’s recreational league while continuing to practice and play as Tea-based teams whenever possible.

Ages: Pre-K–2nd Grade through Tea Parks & Recreation; 3rd Grade and older through Dakota Alliance Recreation.

Brandon Area Soccer Association (BASA)

Serving Brandon and surrounding communities, Brandon Area Soccer Association offers both recreational and competitive soccer opportunities. Young players can begin in recreational leagues before advancing into BASA United competitive teams. The organization also hosts seasonal camps to help players continue developing their skills.

Ages: Recreational U6–U8; Competitive U9–U14

Atlas Academy

Atlas Academy is a year-round youth soccer program focused on developing players both on and off the field. The program uses soccer as a tool to build technical skills, teamwork, leadership, confidence, and community. Designed to make soccer accessible to more families, Atlas offers organized play and player development opportunities in a welcoming environment.

The academy is a great option for players looking for additional skill development, a positive team environment, or a pathway to continue growing as a soccer player.

Ages: Youth players (program offerings vary by season).

Dakota Young Stars FC

Dakota Young Stars FC provides a competitive pathway for experienced players who are looking to continue developing beyond recreational soccer. The organization has competitive youth teams and is known for helping prepare players for higher levels of competition while also offering connections to older developmental opportunities.

Ages: Primarily competitive youth players (varies by team).

FCA Soccer

For athletes looking to sharpen their skills outside of a traditional league, FCA Soccer offers faith-based soccer training and development opportunities throughout the year. Programs include Kingdom Kicks, a soccer academy for athletes in grades 3rd–12th, along with individual and small-group training sessions led by experienced coaches. FCA focuses on developing technical skills, confidence, character, and leadership while encouraging athletes to grow both on and off the field in a Christ-centered environment.

Ages: Individual and small-group training for a variety of ages; Kingdom Kicks is available for 3rd–12th grade athletes.
