No one should have to wonder where their next meal is coming from. With rising food costs and uncertainty around SNAP benefits, many families are stretched thin. The good news? Sioux Falls has a network of community resources — pantries, mobile distributions, meal programs, rescue initiatives, and more — designed to help.

Below is a guide to options you can lean on.

To Note: Always make sure to double-check each location/organization listed below before you head over to them! If needs across the city increase during the shutdown, it may also impact these amazing organizations.

The Helpline Center is an amazing resource for the Sioux Falls Area. Check them out for a wide variety of needs.

If you are in a position to give/serve, reach out to one of the following organizations to see how you can get involved.

Tips for Accessing These Resources

  • Call ahead or check the organization’s website/social-media for updated hours; schedules can change.
  • Bring identification (sometimes required) and basic household info (number of adults/children) as some programs ask for that info.
  • You are not alone, and seeking help is a sign of strength. These programs aim to serve without judgment.

You might not feel like you need to head to a food pantry next (remember, no shame!). Another recourse in the Sioux Falls Area to consider for families looking to stretch their dollar is shopping at Fair Market Sioux Falls. It sells past-over, expired, or even perfectly good food at a great price.
