Ongoing Fall Festivals:
Country Apple Orchard
Location: Harrisburg, SD
During the months of September and October, you can enjoy the Fall Festival weekends at the Country Apple Orchard! They host their fall festivals from Friday to Sunday. Their country store and U-Pick apples are also open on Wednesdays and Thursdays. There are over 20 attractions for your family to enjoy, along with special themes on many weekends! Jump on two huge jumping pillows, zip into their corn pit, or check out some animal friends. Find the admission prices on their website.
Mazing Acres
Location: Yankton, SD
The Mazing Acres Fall Festival weekends are well worth the drive to Yankton! They have over 30+ attractions and photo-ops for your family. Enjoy sliding down their 150 ft mega slide, walking through the corn maze, check out the farm animals, and take family photos with their different photo areas. They are open on Saturdays and Sundays, September 19th-October 31st for 2026. Learn more on their website.
Riverview Christmas Tree Farm
Location: Canton, SD
Riverviews Fall Pumpkin Festivals usually start in mid-September. You can enjoy their Pumpkin Festival for the first three weekends in October as well. They have a U-Pick pumpkin Patch, Vendors, Live Music, Specialty Weekends, train rides, inflatables, a Haunted Corn Maze on select dates, and they also host a giant pumpkin weigh-off. Cherry Rock Farms
Location: Brandon, SD
Cherry Rock Farms is about as local as you can get in the Sioux Falls Area for produce! In the fall, the weekends turn into fall fun! They have a big patch of U-Pick pumpkins, farm animals, a corn maze, a hay ride, and you might get lucky with some food trucks. Check out their Facebook page for opening dates and times!

Location: Parker, SD
Our Farm Fall Festivals are fun for the whole family. They feature a corn pit area, corn maze, pumpkin patch, zip line, hay bale mound, and more. They are open every Saturday and Sunday during the months of September and October. They also are open for part of the day on Wednesdays for ½ price! Learn more on their website!
The Rustic Iron
Location: Vesta, MN
While this is a bit more of a drive from Sioux Falls, about 2 hours, this FREE orchard is worth the trip. That’s right, no tickets are needed for all of their fun activities. Not only can you pick some apples at this orchard, but you can also enjoy a ton of free kids’ activities. Enjoy a hay ride, jumping pillow, playground, ball pit, and more. They are open for fun all fall long. Opening weekend is August 30th, and they are open on Saturdays and Sundays. Each weekend has special events for your family to enjoy. Fall Classic Event in Brookings, SD
Fall in love with everything happening in Downtown Brookings! Enjoy all things fall with shopping, pumpkin painting, kids’ activities, a petting zoo, and more. The Fall Classic Event is happening on October 3rd, 2026.
The Clean Bean Fall Fest
Head over to The Clean Bean in October for their annual Fall Fest with all things fall! Fall drink flights, food trucks, local vendors, fall activities, giveaway baskets, and so much more
Newton Hills Fall Event
Newton Hills State Park is hosting their Annual Fall Festival this year. During the day, you can enjoy the fall festival and craft show. That night, enjoy a candlelight walk around the state park. This event is on October 3rd, 2026.
Centerville Fall-O-Ween
Head down to Centerville, SD, to enjoy their Fall-O-Ween fun! This family-friendly event is great for everyone. Enjoy live music, kids’ activities, vendors, and more. The event dates for 2026 have not been released yet!
Akron Scarecrow Festival
Travel down to Akron, Iowa, for the 26th Annual Scarecrow Festival. You can find all things fall with vendors, a petting zoo, scarecrows, a kids’ carnival, and more. This event is on September 19th, 2026.
