Parades/Hometown Celebrations
Sioux Falls Independence Day Celebration
Kick off your 4th of July with a bang at the annual Independence Day Parade. The parade (Phillips Ave) will start at 10 am. Before the parade, start the day with the Independence Day Celebration Fun Run/Walk that starts at 8 am at Fawick Park.
After the Parade there will be a FREE lunch at the Levitt Shelter for the first 3,000 people. Not only will you get to enjoy a free lunch, but you will also get to enjoy a free concert from the Sioux Falls Municipal Band.
Old Fashioned 4th of July, Lennox SD
Old Fashioned 4th of July in Lennox is always amazing! There are so many things happening in Lennox over the 4th! Enjoy food trucks, vendors, a parade, live music, and more! Of course, enjoy the fireworks show as well!
Harrisburg, SD
Harrisburg is putting on a 4th of July Celebration on the 4th at Central Park. There will be food for sale from the American Legion, along with inflatables, music, and fireworks starting at around 9:30 pm.
Centerville Tornado Days
July 3rd-7th Centerville, SD will be celebrating their hometown Tornado Days! Celebrate the 4th in a classic South Dakota small town. There will be a car show, bike parade, kids activities, fireworks, and more!
Main Street Days, Humboldt, SD
While Main Street Days in Humboldt are not on the 4th of July, they are worth mentioning! Main Street Days are on July 5th, 6th, and 7th and feature a car show, a parade, live music, and more.
Firework Shows
BOOM! Fireworks Demo Show, June 29th
Fire Bros Fireworks will be putting on a firework show on Saturday, June 29th. They are inviting the community out to enjoy a great free show.
The 4th of July at the Fairgrounds included a Fireworks show, but also so much more! The gates open at 7 for this free event at the W. H. Lyons Fairgrounds. There will be food trucks, plenty of live music (including Phi Baker), a kids area, and even Mr. Twister! The Fireworks start at 10 pm.
Bethany Meadows Senior Living in Brandon is having an Independence Day Celebration on July 11th. There will be a food truck, live music, ice cream, and fireworks starting at around 8:45 pm.
Live Music and other Programs
Live Music at the Levitt
On the 4th of July you can enjoy a free show downtown (remember all summer the Levitt hosts free shows on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays). Music starts at 7 pm and the opening act is The Downboys followed by KORY and the FIREFLIES.
On the 5th of July you can catch The Foxies and on the 6th Dyer Davis at the Levitt.
State Parks Bike Parades
For those who live to celebrate the 4th of July in the Great outdoors, there are several State Parks that host an Independence Day Bike Parade! Oakwood Lakes State Park is up near Brookings and has a Bike Parade. Lewis and Clark Rec Area in Yankton is hosting a Parade on the 5th of July.
Catfish Bay
Catch the Greatest Show on H2O on the 4th of July at Catfish Bay. They will have a show starting at 2 pm. This is perfect for families looking to add some extra fun to their day if they are not big on fireworks.
