James Dean Acoustic at the Old Courthouse Museum Winter Concert Series
James Dean is a live looping artist offering relaxing multi-instrumental arrangements in varied genres including Smooth Jazz, Soft Rock, Funk, Reggae, R&B and more.
Through the use of a technique known as “Live Looping” James is able to build entire songs live on stage by recording each instrument as he performs, then “looping” the instruments back while layering the next instrumental parts in as the song builds. The end result is a full band sound performed completely live (without the use of any pre-recorded tracks).
Listeners are invited on a musical journey as the entire song is built in front of them piece by piece. In James’ own words, “It’s like painting with sound.”. The new millennium version of a “one-man band”.
The Old Courthouse Museum Winter Concert Series features local and regional performers on Fridays from noon to 1 p.m. The series runs late November through February. The concerts are held in the historic courtroom of the Old Courthouse Museum. Admission is free. Bring your lunch and enjoy the show!
