AcroYoga Workshop (Ages 12+) – Pop Up
Explore the strength, trust, and creativity of AcroYoga in this dynamic workshop led by Chris Coughlin and Katie Critzer. Combining yoga, partner acrobatics, and movement education, this workshop focuses on building balance, communication, body awareness, and confidence while learning fun and accessible partner skills.
Chris and Katie have been practicing and performing professional partner acrobatics together for over three years and have taught students of all ages—from young children to older adults. Their combined experience in yoga, gymnastics, aerial arts, and movement education allows them to create a safe, supportive, and engaging environment for beginners and experienced movers alike.
Chris Coughlin is an E-RYT 500 Registered Yoga Teacher with more than nine years of yoga experience and has been teaching movement-based classes since 2014. As the Lead Yoga Trainer at Better Together Yoga School, Chris specializes in anatomy, flexibility, and mindful movement. He began aerial training in 2022 and has expanded his coaching into aerial arts, hand balancing, and partner acrobatics. Chris is also an accomplished performer, earning recognition including Best Variety Performance at OKCBF and First Place in Advanced Aerial Silks at the Black Hills Aerial Cup.
Katie Critzer is the Co-Owner and Head Aerial Silks Coach at South Dakota Aerial & Arts and the Founder of the Dakota Aerial Championship. A lifelong gymnast turned aerialist, Katie began aerial training in 2017 and coaching in 2019. She completed instructor training through the Circus Arts Institute and has performed at hundreds of events across the Midwest. Katie brings extensive experience in aerial arts, partner acrobatics, athlete development, and competition coaching as a judge for Aerialympics, USAAO, and Aurum.
Participants will learn foundational AcroYoga poses, partner transitions, spotting techniques, and communication skills while exploring creative movement together. Whether you are brand new to partner acrobatics or looking to build on existing skills, Chris and Katie will provide progressions and challenges for every level.
No partner is required—participants will rotate throughout the workshop, though you are welcome to attend with a partner.
Experience Level: Open to all levels. No previous AcroYoga or partner acrobatics experience required.
