The 4th of July is just around the corner, and the Sioux Falls Area is gearing up for a spectacular celebration! From parades to fireworks, there’s no shortage of events to keep the whole family entertained. There are events happening all over the Sioux Falls Area for the 4th of July this year. Below, we let you know about the different hometown parades, firework shows, and other events happening. If you are planning to shoot off fireworks this year, remember to follow local city rules. 4th of July Events in the Sioux Falls Area

Parades/Hometown Celebrations
Sioux Falls Independence Day Celebration
The City of Sioux Falls will not be putting on a Independence Day parade this year, but there are still lots of fun events planned by by the city!
Participate in a Patriotic Bike Parade at Jabsonson Plaza on July 3rd, head to the Westside Rec Center on July 1st for some All-American field day fun, participate in the watermelon roll on July 5th, or enjoy the free family swimming at Terrace Park on July 4th.
Enjoy a FREE community lunch on the 4th (for the first 2,000 people) provided by the city of Sioux Falls. The community lunch will be held at Philips Ave and 4th.

Also happening in Sioux Falls on the 4th downtown is Open Streets Downtown for the 4th! They are closing off part of downtown Sioux Falls for this fun event featuring art, music, vendors, and more.
Old Fashioned 4th of July, Lennox SD
Old Fashioned 4th of July in Lennox is always amazing! There are so many things happening in Lennox over the 4th! Enjoy food trucks, vendors, a parade, live music, and more! Of course, enjoy the fireworks show as well!
Harrisburg, SD
Harrisburg is putting on a 4th of July Celebration on the 4th at Central Park. There will be a community grill-out, hosted by the American Legion, and fireworks after.
Centerville Tornado Days
On July 2nd-6th, Centerville, SD will be celebrating their hometown Tornado Days! Celebrate the 4th in a classic South Dakota small town. There will be a car show, bike parade, kids’ activities, fireworks, and more!
Main Street Days, Humboldt, SD
Main Street Days in Humboldt are on July 4th, 5th, and 6th this year. They feature a car show, a parade, live music, and more. On July 4th, you can watch a big fireworks show at 10 pm!
Firework Shows

There will be a FREE KBOOM spectacular Fireworks show on Saturday, June 28th at dusk. They will have food trucks on site from 4-8pm. KBOOm is located in Tea, SD, and is owned by a local family.
On Sunday, June 29th, you can see the Boom! Free Fireworks Demo Show with Fire Bros Fireworks. This show is in Brandon, SD.
The 4th of July at the Fairgrounds included a Fireworks show, but also so much more! The gates open at 7 for this free event at the W. H. Lyons Fairgrounds. There will be food trucks, plenty of live music (including Phi Baker), a kids area, and even Mr. Twister! The Fireworks start at 10 pm.
If you are looking for a show PLUS fireworks, check out Catfish Bay. They have a show on July 2nd at 7 pm with the Muller Pallets Fireworks show after.

Live Music and other Programs
Live Music at the Levitt
On the 4th of July you can enjoy a free show downtown (remember all summer the Levitt hosts free shows on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays). Music starts at 7 pm. On the 4th, a Friday night, you can find the talent Andrea Ross and her Orchestra playing at the Levitt at the Falls.
On July 3rd you can find Sinkane and on July 5th Humbletown at the Levitt to round out your 4th of July weekend plans!
State Parks Bike Parades
For those who live to celebrate the 4th of July in the Great outdoors, there are several State Parks that host an Independence Day Bike Parade! Oakwood Lakes State Park is up near Brookings and has a Bike Parade on July 4th. Lewis and Clark Rec Area typically holds a parade as well.
Catfish Bay
Catch the Greatest Show on H2O on the 4th of July at Catfish Bay. They will have a show starting at 2 pm. This is perfect for families looking to add some extra fun to their day if they are not big on fireworks.

- Stay Hydrated: July can be hot, so make sure to drink plenty of water throughout the day.
- Use Sunscreen: Protect your skin by applying sunscreen regularly, especially if you’re spending a lot of time outdoors. We LOVE a sunscreen stick for easy reapplication!
- Keep an Eye on Kids: With large crowds and lots of activities, it’s important to keep a close watch on your children.
