Question: What is the South Dakota Crunch Off, and how can I participate?

The South Dakota Crunch Off is a statewide celebration of local foods, healthy eating, and the producers who make it all possible. To participate, take a big “crunch” into locally grown or raised food, such as apples, carrots, popcorn, or beef sticks, between September 14-October 31.

For children, the Crunch Off is a fun way to try new foods, learn where food comes from, and develop healthy eating habits. Families, schools, childcare, businesses, community groups, teams, and more can all participate. Last year, we recorded our highest Crunch Off participation yet, and we’re hoping for even more this year! Register your crunches online, explore kid-friendly activities, and learn more by visiting our website.
