Brookings, SD – Made up of 6-12-year-olds, Kidoodle Council is a youth advisory board tasked with being ambassadors for the Children’s Museum of South Dakota. Their duties include generating ideas for programs and exhibits, providing feedback to museum staff guiding direction in future operations, and taking part in volunteer activities.
The 2024 Kidoodle Council will meet 11 times a year. They also will get behind the scenes seeing what it takes to run a museum that sees visitors from all over the country.
Examples of the activities of past council members include developing programming in the Maker Studio, walking in community parades, giving feedback and celebrating the ribbon cutting for Whiskers & Tails Veterinary Clinic, and creating dishes in the Café Coteau. The 2024 council will mark the 6th year the council has been in place.
The Children’s Museum of South Dakota recently announced their 2024 youth advisory board members. Serving on the 2024 Kidoodle Council are: AJ, Alaya, Eisley, Ella, Emery, Emma, Ethan, Jesse, Katie, Logan, Lyric, Maddie, Owen, Regan, Robert, Shiloh, Sydney, Wesley, and Whitley. The 6- to 12-year-olds are community ambassadors for the museum, help generate ideas for programs and exhibits, and provide feedback to museum staff guiding direction in future operations.
