DESCRIPTION:At The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Light The Night we gather as a community to celebrate, honor, and remember those touched by blood cancers. Friends, families, schools, corporate teams, and sponsors join together to bring light to the darkness of cancer. The funds raised by this community fund lifesaving research, advocacy and support for blood cancer patients and their families. Join us in the fight to cure cancer!\nDate: Saturday, September 28, 2024\nEvent Location: Falls Park, 131 E Falls Park Dr., Sioux Falls, SD 57104\nParking Logistics: There is a free parking lot located across the street from the park located on N 2nd Ave (off of E Falls Park Dr.).\nGeneral Public should park in this lot (Falls Park Farmers’ Market).\nEvent Festivities: 6:30 PM – 9:00 PM\nOpening Ceremony/Walk: 7:45 PM\nPost Event Festivities: 8:45 PM, Fireworks\n \n\n \nHow long is the walk? Approximately 1 mile\nWhat is allowed at the event: \n\nOnly Service Animals\nDogs\nStrollers\nWheelchairs\nScooters\n\nIs there a bag policy? No, there is not a bag policy.\nCan participants turn in donations at the event? Cash and checks will not be accepted at the walk, but there will be ways to donate digitally the night of the event. All other donations can be sent to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Upper Plains Region P.O. Box 772395, Detroit, MI 48277-2395\nWill there be food? Food for purchase will be available on site. Please bring all forms of payment.\nWhat if it rains on the event day? The in-person event is rain or shine.\nIs the event appropriate for children? Yes! Light The Night is a multi-generational event! The Kids Zone will feature many different games and activities for children.\nHow can I pick up a lantern? All registered participants receive a lantern to be picked up at the Lantern Tent at the walk.\nDo kids need to register? Children 12 years old and younger do not need to register but must be accompanied by an adult to receive a lantern at the event.\nHow do I get a T-shirt? All registered participants who raise $100+ on their individual fundraising page will receive a t-shirt that can be picked up at the walk.\nWhat incentives are there for reaching fundraising milestones?\n$100 – Become a Champion for a Cure to receive the official t-shirt\n$1,000 – Bright Lights will receive a long-sleeve shirt and get exclusive access to the VIP Tent at the event\n
